Terms of Service
Effective September 28, 2026
1. Using Text Christian
Text Christian is operated by Sorry Not Public LLC ("Text Christian," "we," "us"). It provides Christian, a personal assistant you reach by text message or in the Text Christian app on the web and iPhone. These Terms of Service, together with our SMS Terms and Privacy Policy, apply whenever you use our website or app or message Christian.
You must be at least 18 years old to use Text Christian.
2. Your account
Your account is tied to your phone number. Anyone who has your phone can message Christian as you, so keep your phone secure. Give us accurate information, and tell us if you think someone else is using your account.
3. Christian is an AI assistant
Christian's replies are generated by AI, using models from third-party AI service providers that we choose and may change over time. They can be wrong, incomplete, or out of date, and they reflect Christian's design, not the teaching of any particular church or denomination. Before Christian answers you, we ask you to confirm you're 18 or older and to agree that your messages, and any photos, files, email or calendar details you ask about, are processed by those providers to write each reply, as described in our Privacy Policy.
- Replies can be wrong. Check anything important, like dates, Scripture references, email drafts, or calendar events, before relying on it.
- Not professional advice. Christian isn't a substitute for a pastor, counselor, therapist, doctor, lawyer, or financial advisor. Talk to a qualified person about decisions that matter.
- Not for emergencies. If you or someone else is in danger, call 911. If you're in crisis or thinking about suicide, call or text 988 (the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline in the U.S.).
- Actions you ask for. When Christian helps with tasks like setting reminders or arranging something on your behalf, check the details before relying on them. You're responsible for the requests you make.
- Browser tasks and saved logins. If you ask, Christian can do things on websites for you using logins you save in the Secure credentials store. Only save logins to accounts that are yours. Christian uses a login only for tasks you ask for, and asks for your approval before paying for anything, booking, sending messages to other people, deleting anything, or accepting terms for you. You're responsible for what you approve, so check the details first. Websites can change or fail, so Christian may not finish a task. You can delete a saved login anytime, as described in our Privacy Policy.
- Reporting replies. If a reply is wrong, harmful, or inappropriate, press and hold it in the app and choose Report this reply, or use Settings, then Report an issue. We review every report and use them to make Christian better and safer.
- 18 and older. Christian is built for adults. Don't use Text Christian if you're under 18.
4. Acceptable use
Please don't use Text Christian to:
- Break the law, or help someone else break it.
- Harass, threaten, or harm anyone, or send hateful or sexually explicit content.
- Send spam or automated messages, or try to overload or disrupt the service.
- Try to access other people's accounts or data, or reverse-engineer the service.
We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.
5. Community Guidelines
Groups let you read the Bible, pray, plan activities and talk with other people in the app, whether it's a Bible study, a run club or a tennis night. Everything you post or add in a group, like messages, prayer requests, activities, RSVPs and check-ins, is seen by its members. We have zero tolerance for objectionable or abusive content. In Groups, don't post or send:
- Hate, or attacks on people for their race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sex, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or age.
- Harassment, bullying, threats, violence, or anything that encourages someone to hurt themselves or others.
- Sexual content or nudity.
- Spam, scams, ads, or anything illegal.
- Someone else's private information, like their phone number, address, or email, without their permission.
To keep groups safe:
- Leaders look after their groups. The person who starts a group leads it. Leaders can remove posts and remove people, and people who are removed can't rejoin.
- Report and block. Anyone can report a message, prayer request, or group, and block a person, right from the group. Blocking hides that person's posts from you.
- We act within 24 hours. Our team reviews reports within 24 hours. We remove content that breaks these guidelines, and we remove people who break them from groups or from Text Christian.
- Meeting in person. Groups can plan activities, like a Saturday run or a tennis night, and you decide for yourself whether to go. We don't vet or background-check anyone, so use good judgment: meet in public places, tell someone where you're going, and bring a friend if you're meeting people you don't know. Text Christian doesn't organize or supervise meetups and isn't responsible for what happens at them.
- Not for emergencies. We don't watch groups as they happen. If you or someone in your group is in danger, call 911. If someone is in crisis, call or text 988.
6. Early access and waitlist
We're opening Text Christian to people gradually. Access may be limited through a waitlist or invitations, we may limit how many messages you can send each week, features may change or be removed, and the service may sometimes be unavailable. We'll do our best to let you know about major changes.
7. Your content
You own what you send Christian. You give us permission to store and process it only as needed to run and improve Text Christian, as described in our Privacy Policy.
You also own what you post or add in a group, like activities and check-ins, and you give us permission to show it to that group's members. You're responsible for what you post, and we may remove anything that breaks our Community Guidelines.
8. Fees
Text Christian is currently free. Your mobile carrier's message and data rates may apply. If we introduce paid plans, we'll tell you the price before you're charged anything, and in the iPhone app they'll be offered through Apple's In-App Purchase.
9. Ending your use
You can stop at any time by replying STOP. You can delete your account in the app under Settings, then Data controls, then Delete account, or ask us to delete it at support@textchristian.com. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or if we stop offering the service.
10. Disclaimers and limits
Text Christian is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the fullest extent the law allows, Text Christian is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, for decisions you make based on Christian's replies, or for in-person activities that people arrange in Groups. Our total liability for any claim is limited to $100. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
11. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we'll post the new version here and update the date above. If a change is significant, we'll let you know by text or email before it takes effect. Continuing to use Text Christian after that means you accept the new terms.
12. If you got the app from Apple's App Store
If you downloaded the Text Christian app from Apple's App Store, these additional terms apply, and they take priority over anything else in these terms that conflicts with them:
- Agreement. These terms are between you and Text Christian only, not Apple. Text Christian, not Apple, is solely responsible for the app and its content.
- License. We give you a limited, non-transferable license to use the app on Apple-branded products you own or control, as allowed by the Usage Rules in Apple's Media Services Terms and Conditions, except that the app may also be used by other accounts linked to you through Family Sharing.
- Support. We, not Apple, are solely responsible for providing maintenance and support for the app, as described on our Support page. Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for the app.
- Warranty. We're responsible for any product warranties, whether express or implied by law, to the extent not effectively disclaimed. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any, for the app. To the maximum extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app, and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses from a failure to conform to a warranty are our responsibility.
- Product claims. We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to the app or your use of it, including product liability claims, any claim that the app fails to conform to a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection, privacy, or similar laws.
- Intellectual property. If a third party claims that the app or your use of it infringes their intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are solely responsible for investigating, defending, settling, and discharging that claim.
- Legal compliance. You confirm that you're not located in a country that is subject to a U.S. Government embargo or that the U.S. Government has designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you're not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Third-party terms. You must follow any third-party terms that apply when you use the app, such as your wireless carrier's service agreement.
- Third-party beneficiary. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms. Once you accept these terms, Apple has the right, and is deemed to have accepted the right, to enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.
- Questions and claims. Send any questions, complaints, or claims about the app to Sorry Not Public LLC, the developer, at Team@TextChristian.com.
